Hastings (Florence) House is established.

Originally the New England Moral Reform Society Home for Unwed Mothers, it is located in Jamaica Plain. Dr. Caroline Hastings becomes the hospital’s first attending physician in 1871. The name is changed to the Hastings Home in 1948. It merges with the Crittenton Home in 1961.*
